Shanghai Fashion Week Creative China Designs

The fashion world has already established its eyes fixed firmly on Shanghai within the last week, trying to catch a peek at what China’s most creative minds picture the entire world wearing within the next Yr.
China’s rising range of designers are slowly forcing their way on the global stage and Shanghai Fashion Week certainly had its share of glitz and glamour.
Because the event attempts to hold its head more than the rival China International Fashion Week, held a few weeks ago in the capital Beijing, a stream of international heavyweights were earned to strut their stuff around the catwalks set up within Shanghai’s ultra-cool Xintiandi district.
The “Pearl from the Orient” (as Shanghai was known within the decadent times of the 1920s and 30s) played host for the likes of Italy’s Sforza and Mazzi and also the hip types of France’s agnès b - a label which has a huge following in Asia. Dior have also been in town, presenting China using its 2012 spring couture show.
Nevertheless it seems the 18th edition of Shanghai’s fashion extravaganza - which finished Tuesday - was mostly about promoting the locals, using a collection of Chinese designers hogging the limelight - and all sorts of the headlines.
International fashion industry tracker Nadine Kam was particularly taken through the creations on show from your studio of China’s Zix Guan, that is, as it turns out, a huge fan of Hollywood icon Julia roberts, the woman who inspired Guan’s collection “Killers.”
Kam says the designer informed her the collection was exactly about power, something Jolie possesses in spades. “Women on this country have to have power. In China, lots of girls, women just love their family, their love, their kids; they never love themselves. Women need power, nevertheless they still must be sexy. This collection uses leather to create a woman feel powerful, with lace to produce women saucier,” was the designer’s explanation.
